As soon as I read the announcement of Shadow the hedgehog starring in his own game I was so surprised....Like: .......

YES, I am a huge Shadow fangirl and proud of it. But this is the only time I have ever heard of a Sonic related game that doesn't star Sonic. Many people were skeptical about it and complained about the gun issue and are afraid that Sonic and his merchandise will go down the toilet. THAT is not true in this case. I know why SEGA is starring Shadow in his own game. SEGA is trying to expand their horizions on the Sonic universe. If it were only Sonic ALL THE TIME, then the whole thing would be really boring. The only thing they will NEVER change is the legendary mascot of their company Sonic the hedgehog as the main hero. Sonic will always be a HUGE, main part of the Sonic community and without Sonic, the Shadow game wouldn't have been possible. So I did this picture as to give credit to our beloved blue blur. I also am a Sonic fangirl as well.

I did this piece as an experimental project with the style of manga. Also I did the techniques based on the set of moods from grey as in melancholy, lonely and empty to color as in comforting and happiness. I even did the rain effect as a tone of the feeling as I learned drawing the rain from the mangas I read.

Seeing many promotional posters everywhere of his dark rival Shadow who will star in a game without Sonic, Sonic for the first time felt isolated from his friends, his fans, and everything he ever knew. As first he felt frustrated from all the attention Shadow has been getting so he just ran away by thinking it as an escape from it all....But that changed. For the first time, Sonic has gotten to a point where he felt so lonely because he misses his friends, even Amy. The rain begun to pour hard as he sunk down sitting on the pavement. Even though he never dwells on the past, he still remembers his friends and the good times they spend together from fighting Dr. Eggman to hanging out. He just focuses on the positives on the journey he had, never on the negatives . Then he heard many footsteps. He turned around and saw his friends. As soon as his friends rushed to embrace him, he then realized that as he never turns down his friends, his friends never turn down on him. That is the true meaning of friendship. A shady figure appeared watching over a building ahead of Sonic and company. It was Shadow himself. It was the best Shadow could do since he is not much of a embracing character to show respect for his rival. Knuckles isn't either, he is just beside Sonic.

Remember Sonic: No matter what happens, you can never be replaced.

I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I made this as a dedication to Sonic.
